This site is built from a research library covering all 179 cities, towns and villages of Hokkaido and its 14 subprefectures. The entries were researched and written by AI research agents (Claude, by Anthropic) from public sources: official municipal websites, Hokkaido Government statistics, the 2020 Census, GSI area tables, the official Hokkaido Michi-no-Eki site, tourism associations and Wikipedia.

A second pass opened every cited page, re-checked the key figures and every Michi-no-Eki, and corrected errors. Every fact carries a numbered footnote that links to the list of sources at the bottom of the page, with the publisher, the language and the date the source was read.

Figures are as of 23 September 2026. Opening hours, prices and timetables change, so check the official websites before you travel.
